with all the sparse blogging, i didn't realize how many posts were about my isabella [although i do have a bunch of pictures up in flickr]... not that diego isn't forgotten about but he's at school during the day... between 5-8pm we have homework, dinner, bath time, and playtime... three hours to squeeze it all in... his presence cannot be ignored and his intelligence continues to amaze us... he can spell and write his name, read a bit, and is curious about everything written on every billboard, poster, and sign....
ramel is gone for a week [business training in florida].. so that means diego is the only male in the house... and he's attempted to show this manhood already... saturday night, diego decided to give himself a shave... he nicked his lip but of course, it bled worse than a knife wound... he said he "wanted to be like daddy"... and my motherly response was "yeah, you sure were! daddy makes himself bleed when he shaves too... if he can hurt himself, why'd you even try????!" ah, my sympathies were there to calm him down and to hand him a transformers band-aid...
diego goes to k5 next year... he's in headstart right now- full day- and its equivalent of k4... he gets to graduate this year too, pictures and all! and guess what?! my diego is going to be valedictorian of his class!!! he even has to give a speech!!!! may 15th is the date- so my son is some hotshot :)
isabella and diego seem to be getting along pretty well... as siblings should... a few bites, a few scratches, but a lot of hugging, screaming, and holding hands... he is really a wonderful big brother and is very aware if he did something to hurt her [like scratching her face]... i don't believe in letting siblings fight it out... i don't think each should be cruel and call each other names or throw stuff at each other... i mean, that right there is a relationship!!! so i've emphasized how each has to be nice and there isn't any biting allowed [isabella] or wrecking toys... they can learn at a very early age how to respect each other, and each one's belongings.. and that, diego is a good role model :)
so i'll keep this short... you can see more photos here of mr. diego hill... if only i had a camcorder to record this extremely talkative boy... he's much like is father [including trying to shave at 4yrs old] and adores his family, gaming, comics, and sharing... this kid is a sweetheart!!!
