i've deleted a few posts [the last one was accidental] because i'm trying to move on from all the recent garbage that has taken place... with artwork stolen but told, it was legally okay, it has put a damper in my creative process... seeing other people go through similar situations has made me feel moreso frustrated and less eager to create but also wanting to help people deal with the same topic... but maybe i was giving wrong advice?? i don't know since it seems that morals and laws and the difference between them, are debatable... and i would rather not give advice that is going to hurt people, bring on further frustration and/or debate... and i definitely don't want to discourage people in general from creating unique art...
so we are to move on from situations- forgive but not forget right?! thank you all for your continuous support... i am sorry to sound so fickle lately and air my frustrations publicly... i will be back but i don't know if it will be next week or in a couple of weeks... i dont know if i'll show my illustrations here or just on flickr... either way, you can find me on my flickr page and my twitter.... and thank you again!
Keep up the good work Elia. Opinions will always be many and varied but don't doubt yourself and your own views on latest events. Chin up hunni, you have my support. X X

I took a bit of a blogging break and I seem to have missed a lot over here. It is really sad that this has happened to you. I know that you are talented, creative, original!, and still have more of it in you. I hope we don't have to wait too long to see more of your darling creations. xoxo

Hi Ellia,
First, thank you for sending me the photo with my artwork hanging over your desk. I really appreciated that.
So sorry that you have been having trouble with people copying your artwork. Your style is so distinctive, it is easy
to spot a copy. I think it is the cheesiest thing someone can do.
Flickr is confusing for me and I don't keep up with it, but I wish you all the best. You are the best type of artist, in
my book - original, talented and humorous. Someone who copies your work should be ashamed.

So sorry you've been having this trouble with thievery!!!! Some people are just not right... After reading stories of this happening it gets hard for me to want to post my artwork as well... Not that I'm doing anything earth shattering, but it is mine. I'll keep an eye out for you on flickr.

You have my 100% full support. It saddens me that so many people think it is okay to blatantly copy since "there is nothing new under the sun" and therefore there is nothing truly original. What a crock. Unfortunately putting our work out into the public domain means that there will always be someone who is silly (and lazy) enough to copy and claim it as their own. But we can't let this stop us from creating - time will define the true innovators from the copycats (copycats tend to fade into oblivion very quickly). I adore your work. Please keep at it. Hope you enjoy your break and come back refreshed :-)

I haven't been reading blogs for awhile, so I don't know what happened, but I am sorry someone was copying you! Of course it is not OK. How frustrating! I agree that copycats seems to fade away quickly because they can't come up with their own ideas and they aren't willing to work hard. I hope it doesn't ruin your love for illustrating. I think you are incredibly talented!
