it's been awhile since i've been really able to blog about diego... not that he isn't around here to bring spark, laughter, and noise in the house... but he's gone from the home from 8am to 5pm... and from 5-8pm, there is homework, reading, eating, playing, and cleaning with the kid... so here is a li'l post about diego...
it's not so crazy to say that the apple didn't fall too far from the tree... especially when it comes to diego... he likes his artwork... and what's more, he likes MY studio [hmmm, do you remember the photo of isabella enjoying my studio too?!]... the other day, he had to make a self- portrait using glue, googly eyes, and sticky tape... did he need my help?! NO!!! this kid glued on his own eyes, and his hair and he drew his own mouth... he did request a pair of ears and a tongue so i cut those out for him...

i'm partially surprised that he is so skilled with the tub of glue mainly because i never let him use the stuff... yes, yes- i have little tolerance for glue and paint in this house... [and just in self- defense, its only because i am the one to clean it up... i have the same theory for spaghetti and angel hair noodles... if a kid can't clean up such a messy substance, i would rather they not indulge in it because i already clean up everything else... now, ramel can feed them the stuff and let them dive into paint as long as he cleans it up... do i sound particular?!i am SO GRATEFUL for school and giving him the freedom to paint and use glue... he does an awesome job, and i'm proud of him...

and would it be a surprise to you if i declared that this kid also loves video games?! not atari, not his v-tech [which is made JUST for kids], not even the gamecube... he likes the xbox 360, much like his parents... and the games he favors?! batman legos and star wars legos... for the most part, he can get around the boards without help... on occasion, he needs assistance and ramel is there to get diego's character to the right spot... however, diego gets upset if ramel plays TOO much on RAMEL'S own xbox, with ramel's OWN game... how does a 4yr old take over?! don't worry, we are NOT pushovers, so diego is learning to keep his tongue in check while getting a treat on xbox live... this kid is something else ;) he learns quick too, after losing a bit of gaming priveledges.... i never thought we'd be dealing with a kid gamer so young ;)

since i can remember, diego always wanted to help... when isabella came into the picture, he was quick to share everything; from his toys to his bed to his pjs... yes, even his pjs... when he gets to help in the kitchen, he is ready to throw on his superman apron and get busy... whether he is adding shredded cheese to a meal, or butter in the noodles, he is a good listener and helper... the other day, i bought the "ready to eat" cheesecake filling and a pie crust... together, we spooned the filling into the crust and smoothed it out and we had ourselves a homemade cheesecake... diego was quite proud that he had helped make such a pie!!! and he should be!
yeah, he is a some hot shot... i love the kid dearly.. tonight, we will be watching one of his favorite movies, the hulk... i bought the special edition [target exclusive] of hulk breaking the walls.... we are gonna have a fun night as a family... all artwork, emails, and blogging, will be put aside for this family night with the big green fellow...
have a great tuesday!!!
