green bean mama

my other site is finally up!!!! its called greenbean mama: an artist's guide to motherhood.... please take a look if you'd like!! this site (greenbean baby) is purely for my illustrations while as my other blog is a mix of rambles, rants, issues, and current non- illustration projects. i wanted to separate the two for the sake of business.

miss sage & rose love green...

within 2 months, i completed 11 illustrations... nearly a semester's worth of work minus the tuition and grade... as i was looking thru all of my newer work, i was astonished  at the fact that i use the color green a lot! in every illustration (aside from the blue pc)... so i was determined to find a background that wasn't green for this 11th pc... for 24hrs, between naps and diapers, a hungry kid with miscellaneous fits, and a few phone calls, i rummaged thru piles of paper... over and over... pink?! tried but it didn't work.... blue?! nah, too 80's... maroon?! the hair blended too much... 24hrs... all the way into the new year.... and did you know what color i was most pleased with? a light olive green... without even realizing it, i chose the very color i tried so desperately to avoid... alas, there is no way around it... i love green. (i guess even you can tell by just my blog name, huh?!)

another note: my love for green extends beyond my illustrations... my furniture, if not brown, is green... an olive love seat, 2 1950's armchairs in ornate green... the cloth that adorns my record buffet table... and to think, i just figured this out!!! i really am a  g-r-e-e-n bean baby...
