spring clean-a-thon
are you ready to finish those projects???? are you ready to stop feeling guilty and get to crackin' on those neglected projects??! well come join the spring clean-a-thon.... here's the scoop:
make a to-do list consisting of 5-10 REASONABLE PROJECTS... each project is worth $3.... now, you find one or two close online friends to sponsor these projects... for example, you may find one person who is willing to sponsor 5 projects... that means, he/she will donate $15.... when those projects are completed and POSTED for the world to see, your sponsor will spend the promised amount of money [for every item completed] in YOUR etsy shop... you have until May 12th to finish your projects!!
this means that you have to have etsy goods in your shop in order to participate UNLESS getting goods in your shop IS on your list... this also means that you have to show proof that you FINISHED it... you can either do this on flickr or your blog...
how do i join?
make your to do list and find your sponsors... once you get one or two sponsors who agree to this, email me with the following info:
1.your name and email address
2. your sponsors' name and email address
3.how much each sponsor pledged...
4. your website links
you have until April 20th to send me the info... this is your agreement to participate...
From there, all people in the spring clean-a-thon will be posted on my blog with links to them and their sponsor... this will show that you are participating and we can all see how each of us are doing with our projects... there will be a raffle drawing for ALL PARTICIPANTS AND SPONSORS... the prizes will be announced next week...
as a participant, what do i gain in all of this?
if you complete your projects, you get a huge sense of relief... hehe... you've accomplished a goal and finished it on time... you gain an audience that can cheer you on in finishing the projects... and you gain support for your etsy shop and your creations.... you gain business and a chance to promote your work... you get the drive you need to get inspired and motivated for summer creating.... yes, you won't get a big cookie in the end... you won't make millions of dollars... but you WILL have projects done and finished and isn't that just as satisfying?
as a sponsor, what do i gain in all of this? and what are my duties?
you are helping someone gain the motivation and even inspiration to complete their projects... they now have accountabilty and some responsibilty [along with a deadline] and you are there to support them.... if they finish their projects, you are also supporting their etsy shop, their side career, their passion, their dream, even their blog... you give this person a reason to finish a project... As a sponsor, you are promising to spend $3 per COMPLETED project in
the participant's etsy shop... if you sponsor 10 projects but the
person only completes 6, then you only need to spend $18.... however, you are responsible for shipping costs
as a participant, what if i don't have an etsy shop?
well, you can promote someone else's etsy shop.... for instance, ramel doesn't have a shop, but he can tell his sponsor that all proceeds go towards greenbeanbaby's shop...
why are the prices so cheap per item?
i want this to be affordable for everyone... i
understand that a completed quilted baby blanket is not worth $3...
however, if you finish 5 items, that is $15 towards your etsy, your
business, your handmade goodness...
what are allowable items for the to-do list?
work in progress projects that have been laid on the table for too long... swaps that are belated [and i mean, SERIOUSLY OVERDUE], illustrations, bulk items for your etsy shop.... if you can prove that you have an item that was on the list and is finished, then it's okay...
what are NOT allowed on the to-do list?
everyday tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, brushing your teeth, getting up in the morning, etc.... if you have an outside job, you cannot put "go to work" on the list.... if you have doctor's appointments, people to call, etc, these are NOT items for this project...
i am participating, but can i sponsor someone too?
yes!!! definitely!!! i plan on having my to do list and getting sponsors... but i also want to sponsor someone else...
the goal in all of this is to motivate each other to finish projects and promote that person's talents and goals... some of us have etsy shops that are in need of attention, and this is a good way to get some... this is just a lil something for us all to feel like someone cares about us and our unfinished projects... and that someone is looking forward to seeing the finished product as well as support us!!!!
so if you are interested and wanna join the spring clean-a-thon, find your sponsor!!! more details and updates will be posted but you only have until sunday to get in on the fun!
ps. this took me several hours to type up so i REALLY hope it makes sense :D
