about greenbeanbaby
who is this greenbeanbaby gal?! a few years ago, i was just an artist..... but now, I am a mother to a happy 3yr old who likes to jump off the furniture and insists that HE is superman. On occasion, he may be batman or spiderman but really, he is a wonderful big brother to the newest addition to the family- isabella.
Isabella is my littlest greenbean who is full of smiles and cries and
shrills and laughter. She crawls her way into most places that hold the
video controllers or diego's toys. She may venture into my paper piles
before i grab her [and rescue my poor, tattered papers] Isabella has a
knack for finding the family's favorites in the house. My family is my
priority; they fill my
days
with the tears and laughter of two kids.
But it's after they go to bed, that I can work on my other priority- artwork. For over 26yrs, I've loved art. I graduated from Milwaukee Institute
of Art and Design
with a BFA in illustration... (and a minor in
creative writing, although it needs some brushin' up) Unlike the traditional artist, my favorite medium is paper. It's the only medium (for illustrating) I am
good
at w/little frustration. I do cutesie cut paper art. Without paper [and
the utter obsession of it], my artwork cannot exist.
After discovering the world of blogging, I found new passions
beyond just illustration. Sewing and knitting (although, still
oh-so-rusty) are quite fun! It's taking me a long time to figure out
crocheting. Most nights I am working on some form of paper goods or illustration, however, there are moments when the retro sewing machine comes out. Or after browsing through many blogs, the knitting needles are retrieved.
Juggling the various duties
in life can be daunting. I cannot do illustration or crafts everyday
but creativity
is utilized constantly and thankfully, not wasted. If you are curious
as to how I manage this at times, check out this post here...
