When I was very young I lived in Woomera, Australia and about half this town's population were Americans. So when 4th of July came around us Australians joined in with the festivities. I remember seeing the homemade street parade, plus the fireworks at night. It was a happy memory for me, though at that age I would not have known what it was all about.
